Terry and Noreen Keating

Terry and Noreen Keating, have enjoyed a long, wonderful relationship with St. Joe’s. Noreen, the former Executive Director at Lighthouse of Oakland County, has been a member of the hospital’s Board of Trustees and part of the hospital’s Foundation Board since it was formed and served as the first Chair. Terry, an attorney with Berry Moorman in Detroit, has been a member of the St. Joe’s Planned Giving Advisory Committee since its inception. Together, they are continuing their commitment to St. Joe’s by including the hospital in their estate plans.

“We believe strongly in the power of including nonprofits like St. Joe’s in estate plans. We’ve both been involved in planned giving in our work lives, and have seen how impactful a planned gift can be on an organization you love.

“The Mercy Health System has been a fabric of our lives since the very beginning. Both of us were born in Mercy hospitals and over the years, everyone in our family has received excellent care at St. Joe’s.

“Our great admiration for the hospital has only grown through experience, like when Terry needed to have his knees replaced, when our beloved daughter-in-law needed emergency help and received lifesaving care from the ER staff, and when Noreen’s elderly mother received wonderful, tender treatment. We are quite grateful.

“Of course, it is personally rewarding to know we will still be making a difference long after we are gone through our estate gift. As parents we want to know our children will have access to world-class healthcare in our own community. A planned gift is one way we are able to help this effort, and we can’t think of a more deserving organization than St. Joseph Mercy Oakland.
